In 2002, we began a serious exploration of the music of China through the brilliant compositions of Chen Yi and Zhou Long. We're pleased to welcome our dear friends back to Portland, this time joined by acclaimed erhu virtuoso, Wang Gouwei, in a program of tantalizing new works.

Born of their experiences during China's cultural revolution, and tempered by their life in the US, Chen Yi and Zhou Long's music is a fascinating fusion of eastern and western cultures. The program offers two different profiles in musical personality, each compelling and beautiful.
