Alone, Dancing: Music of South Asian American Composers is the studio recording of the music on our 2019 concert Indian Music Now, an exploration of tradition, modernity, intersectionality, and identity, all within the context of today.
From Reena Esmail’s touching remembrance of her grandmother’s lullaby; to Shirish Korde’s meditative "Anusvara"; to Asha Srinivasan’s exploration of patriotism, stillness, and chaos; to Nina Shekhar’s vibrant homage to traffic in an Indian city, "Honk If You Love Me" (commissioned by 3A), this project celebrates uniqueness.
Everything Means Nothing To Me (Third Angle Records 2020)
The recorded works of our 2018 concert “A Fond Farewell,” reimagining the music of singer-songwriter Elliott Smith as a suite of classical art-songs. Presents the music of six nationally lauded composers: Christopher Cerrone, LJ White, Robert Honstein, Scott Wollschleger, Ted Hearne, and Jacob Cooper. The second album on the Third Angle Records imprint.
Japanese Music Now (Third Angle Records 2017)
A collection of works performed by Third Angle inspired by the Portland Japanese Garden’s new Cultural Village. Including works by Japanese composers Dai Fujikura, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Sayo Kosugi, and Kenji Sakai written for Western orchestral instruments. The first album on the Third Angle Records imprint.
