I am a composer, arranger, pianist and music educator whose works have been performed and recorded internationally. In 2003 and 2004 I won two Ian Tomlin Malta Napier music scholarships to study piano and Composition respectively in Edinburgh. In 2008, I became the first Maltese woman to be conferred a Ph.D. in Music Composition. I receive regular commissions and have enjoyed collaborating with notable musicians such as The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble Des Equilibres, Cosmos Wind Ensemble, Edinburgh Quartet, Agnew McAllister Duo, Javus Quartet, Peter Evans, Rebecca Hall, Miriam Cauchi, Charlene Farrugia and Tricia Dawn Williams. Apart from 2 full-length albums, 21 Dances for the 21st Century & One of the Number, my compositions feature on several other albums including Contemporary Colours, Bidla, Riflessi & Tiny Keys Big Sounds. I am a full-time Lecturer in Music at the University of Malta and am the resident pianist at the Dance Studies Department and ŻfinMalta National Dance Company.
