Executive Director Evan Lewis to Depart from Third Angle New Music
PORTLAND, Ore., July 17, 2026 – Third Angle New Music has announced that Evan Lewis will depart his role as Executive Director of Third Angle New Music, effective July 24, to serve as the new Foundations Manager of Children’s Cancer Association/JoyRx. This new role aligns with his background in arts funding and history of working for organizations that improve the lives of children and their families.
Board of Directors President Michael Reed remarks, “Over the past two years, Evan led the organization through landmark events including Third Angle’s blockbuster presentation of Philip Glass’ Dracula, our celebratory 40th Anniversary Season, and a successful joint gala with Oregon Contemporary. During his tenure, Third Angle forged key partnerships with organizations like World Forestry Center and Hillsboro's Vault Theater which allowed us to reach wider audiences and unlock new funding possibilities in a difficult time for the arts sector. Additionally, his advocacy for small arts organizations has helped shape the path of Portland City Council, securing more equitable funding for organizations beyond just Third Angle."
The Board of Directors of Third Angle is developing a long term plan for leadership succession, and has appointed Will Pyle as Interim Executive Director effective July 25. Pyle currently serves as Communications Director of Third Angle and has been on staff with the organization since 2023. Third Angle does not anticipate any interruption in its offerings for the upcoming season.
